RECREATIONAL

IDC’s recreational program offers students a fun, engaging dance environment where they will improve their skills and grow in confidence.  Balancing discipline and fun with a focus on performance, our recreational dancers have the opportunity to be inspired every week in their class. Weekly classes provide an outlet for students to explore their creativity, musicality, rhythm, as well as many other physical skills.

Our students in this program focus primarily on the development of skills, with one year end performance in our recital in mid-June.

The recreational program is a great choice for students who may be involved in other activities and want to simply learn the fundamentals of dance without any other outside commitment.  Recreational students may take as many classes per week as they’d like, and discounts are available for student’s who take 3 or more classes/week.

COMPANY

The company program is a series of three competitive teams for students who are looking to move from recreational dancing to the company program.

Mini Company 5-9yrs

Firecracker Company 9-13yrs

Flare Company 10yrs+

Dancers in the company program get the opportunity to perform at 2 local competitions as well as the studio’s competitive showcase and June recital.

Most students will spend at least two seasons in at each level before moving to the next level. Directors will discuss with the students and parents in the program to update them of their progress.

Students interested in joining the Company program are required to audition. The audition process is an open jazz class where dancers will showcase their skills and work ethic. Dancers do not need to prepare anything for the audition class. Auditions happen annually and current Company students must attend so directors can make appropraite assessments of their growth.

ELITE

The Elite program is for students aged 12yrs and up who are ready for an elite level of dancing where students are challenged in every style of dance, and to hone their performance skills.

Acceptance to the Elite program is decided bv the Directors after auditions, and takes into account the student’s technical ability, their emotional maturity, and group dynamics. Students within the Elite Company will be placed in appropriate classes for their technique level – the age/grade of each dancer is less of a deciding factor than their abilities. Company students dance a mandatory 8hrs/week (3 days).
